Here in Eureka Springs, we’re familiar with creating. We are a town of artists — from painters to musicians to actors — and we celebrate that community spirit all month long with May Festival of the Arts. This year, the festival is all about being artrageous. What’s it like to be artrageous? Well, it’s really not any different from being yourself. It’s all about expressing who you are by creating. You are welcome in Eureka Springs no matter who you are.

That’s especially true during the Artrageous Parade, when downtown fills up with people excited to see the talent featured in the parade. Over the years, we’ve seen a little bit of everything at the parade, including perfectly weird body paint and a van fitted with the most colorful crocheted overcoat. See, we’re no stranger to art in Eureka Springs … and the weirder the better.

The rest of the month is booming with artistic events taking place all over town. No matter when you come to Eureka Springs, you’ll find something to do in May. We’re especially excited about the Chalk Art Street Festival and the Harmon Park Mural and Art Trail Project, two week-long events where you can learn a new skill.

We hope you have an artrageous time during your visit, and please come back soon!
